Mountain Festival in Vallermosa

The “Festa della Montagna” (Mountain Festival) returns to Vallermosa on 25 April 2026, in the scenic area of Is Prunixeddas, for a day dedicated to nature, archaeology, and local traditions. The programme includes a hike to the Sacred Wells of Matzanni with a guided archaeological visit, a traditional local lunch, and live music: a chance to experience the area through culture, food, and community.

Schedule

Nature hike to the Sacred Wells of Matzanni

Meeting point at 8:30 a.m. at the car park of the Vallermosa sports field. Participants will then travel by car to the Is Prunixeddas area, where the hike begins. The visit will be led by an archaeologist.

Hike length: 6 km. Booking required.

Guided visits to the Matzanni Archaeological Site

Starting at 10:00 a.m.

Archaeologist Nicola Dessì will be present. A shuttle service will be available with two off-road vehicles. Shuttle cost: €3.00 per person

Please note: guided visits with the archaeologist will take place in the morning only. In the afternoon, access to the site will be free.

Traditional lunch by the Pro Loco

At 12:30 p.m.

Menu: cheese, malloreddus with sausage and porcini mushroom sauce, veal stew with wild cardoons and potatoes, bread, orange, wine, and water.

Live music

At 3:00 p.m.

With ICHNOS PARTY.
