Educazione ambientale e sostenibilità tra Campidano e Monte Linas

CEAS Vallermosa — the Centre for Environmental Education and Sustainability — is a reference point for anyone interested in environmental issues and in discovering the natural heritage of the local area.
Established by the Municipality of Vallermosa and managed by the association Fructus Terrae APS, the centre promotes educational activities, learning projects, and guided outdoor experiences for schools, families, and people of all ages.

CEAS organises creative workshops, nature trails, and awareness-raising initiatives on topics such as biodiversity protection, climate change, and the sustainable management of natural resources.

Among its most significant projects are O.TU.S, dedicated to the protection of nocturnal birds of prey through the creation of several “oases” for owls and little owls; Cambia-Menti per il pianeta, a series of meetings on climate change with primary schools; and Podcast for Fashion, a workshop for middle school students exploring the environmental impact of fast fashion.

The centre also plays an active role in local events. During CEAS Aperti a regional programme that opens Sardinia’s environmental education centres to the public with free activities, it organises themed days focused on soil, water, and biodiversity.

During Sapori d'Autunno, Vallermosa’s food and wine festival, CEAS sets up nature exhibitions and leads guided visits to the Nuragic sacred wells of Matzanni, bringing together nature, history, and local traditions.

Vallermosa sorge in una posizione privilegiata tra il Campidano e il massiccio del Monte Linas, circondata da boschi di macchia mediterranea e torrenti. Il territorio offre paesaggi suggestivi e una ricca biodiversità, che il CEAS valorizza attraverso escursioni e attività all’aperto per scoprire un angolo di Sardegna autentica in modo sostenibile.
